SPECIAL HALLOWEEN TOUR:

Oct. 26, 2019

Time: 6pm - 9pm

Join Barrio Boychik (Shmuel Gonzales), Boyle Heights Historian & Community Organizer, on this historic walking tour of the amazing ghost stories no one has dared to tell! Learn the fascinating history of one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles as well as how to understand the paranormal so you’re not scared to sleep at night after our tour. You’ll get so much information and scary stories to share around the campfire. With real facts and humor Shmuel will give you an entertaining tour that will give you goose bumps, but empower you to not be afraid of the dark.

This is a real walking tour and you must be able to walk for two hours mostly standing. There will be opportunities to use the bathroom at some of the locations and to sit. However, there are stairs at CASA 0101 Theater going towards the attic and people have the option to not visit the attic, and can just wait downstairs for the oral presentation. People in wheelchairs and canes are welcomed, and we will modify accordingly.

THE WALKING TOUR will begin at 6 pm, and participants will get a brief history of Boyle Heights and a video presentation of haunted sights not on our walking tour such as:

LINDA VISTA HOSPITAL, HOLLENBECK PARK, JEWISH ORPHAN HOME, EVERGREEN CEMETERY.

Our actual walking tour will start at 6:30 pm and will last for two hours. Locations that will be featured will be:

SALON DE LA PLAZA - 1866 E 1st St

PARKING: We do not have a parking lot. There is limited parking in the neighborhood. Do not park in metered parking, as they only allow 1-hour parking until 8pm and are very strict.

We highly encourage guests to take public transit, as our location is walking distance from two local Gold Line stations, being equal distance from Mariachi Plaza and Soto Station. We are located near the corners of St. Louis and 1st Street; across the street from Hollenbeck Police Station.

*** Meeting location subject to change, we will confirm the meeting place in the confirmation email the day before the event ***
